What’s a Homeland Security cyber internship like

Hey everyone,

I’m a college student and I think I have a solid shot at getting a cybersecurity internship with my state’s Homeland Security cyber division. I’m currently studying for Network+ and had a few questions for anyone who’s done something similar.

What’s the internship actually like day to day? Is it more hands-on technical (logs, alerts, incident response), or more research/report writing? How should I prepare to do well?

Also, would you recommend continuing to focus on Network+, or should I put that on hold and prepare differently?

Appreciate any honest advice.
