Repeat Islanders

Just a little food for thought.

I know a fair number of people believe most contestants on All Stars are there more for career exposure than for love at this point (I don’t necessarily disagree, I just don’t really care).

However, while Lucinda is the first woman to do four LI seasons, she’s far from the only Islander to return multiple times - yet she seems to be receiving disproportionately more backlash for it.

Notably for someone so loud, I thought Scott was remarkably quiet yesterday, when Jessy was flaming Lucinda for being disingenuous for returning for a 4th time.

I get that Lucinda is a polarizing presence - both in the villa and with viewers. I’m sure that contributes to it. But it’s interesting that when men repeat, it’s mostly banter and jokes about having to see them again and then being unserious, whereas when women repeat, it turns into questioning their authenticity or morals.

Personally, I don’t care about repeats. I also don’t particularly care about their pre-villa dating history. I care more about what they actually bring to the villa - I’m watching for good, entertaining TV.
