Hi all,

Will give a break down firstly.

Sold our Ford Figo Trend 1.5L 2017 Model for R 101k to WBC last week, basically fully serviced and all worn parts replaced and no engine issues etc. R 50k's worth put in and initially bought it for R 175k.

Now with the funds we planned on returning to the Chevrolet brand albeit the fact they pulled out and people's experiences etc. ours was great when we had a Chev prior to the Ford and well felt like returning back.

Spent days checking out different brands, conditions and availability etc. Us being based in East London, there wasn't many to choose from or trust per condition, so decided to stick with WBC since selling to them and found a Chevy Cruze.

Chevrolet Cruze 2017 1.6L LS Sedan

Minor cosmetic issues

No mechanical issues or leaks

Requires two front tyres

Partial service history

license expired last year July, promised a permit

R 85690

Location: Montana, Pretoria

Thought cool, least no mechanical issues, exactly what we want considering we sold ours without such.

Did all the paperwork, made a R 2500 reservation, had my brother go assess and confirm. He did so and for the most part it's as it was described. However, upon starting it, it rattled a lot and cut off. The salesman said it's likely because it's been sitting a while...Okay cool..So he'll let the mechanics check and well they claimed the same and supported the condition report as described no mechanical issues, then my brother noticed an oil leak and the sales man said he'll get the mechanics to recheck and they stated its old and no longer leaking as no drips found. So we thought okay since that's all checked we will go through as to send the vehicle down would cost R 6000. I chose to fly up with a family member costing R 1589, then drive down which is 11 hours from there.

Got there and only had to pay as had arranged all paper work to be done prior, then found I'd be signing more stuff after paying in full. We then got asked to wait as they just need sign off and the gate pass. I asked for the permit they promised per license expiry and they backtracked on that promise and said they don't do that for cash buyers...However reminded them of the promise made and they said just drive it and say you bought it from webuycars...and I'm like ah no, metro cops won't care for that, I need the permit. 2 hours in I start getting flustered because we wanted to leave before JHB traffic got insane which we advised before coming up and even after making payment 15 min in, got told to be patient...hit the 3rd hour, still waiting on the gate pass...eventually it happens and we leave flustered and angry and go to supaquick and put two tyres on at R 2700 total with alignment included taking another hour to do of which added to the 3 hours WBC made us wait knowing we had a long trip, drive and hit traffic of epic proportions being that there was 7 accidents affected main highways there. Low and behold the car cuts out when I'm in the fast lane but managed to get it started and carry on, due to the traffic I got home in East London 5:30am instead of the planned 12am. Travel costs with toll fees around R 2000 in total.

First took my son to school that morning, car cut out again...I then took the car same morning for the major service which cost R 3060. Asked the service place to do an overall check of the engine per cut out etc, then got a quote for R 13879 (MAF sensor, valve cover gasket, oil seal and so forth)

Contact webuycars about it and ask why they sold a car with no mechanical issues or leaks that has leaks and mechanical issues and stated they must repair this and bring it up to standard per sale and or refund the car and everything spent so far, now they say the repair costs is above their threshold and if they refund they won't refund the travel costs.

I personally feel they should repair it as to take it back means we without a car and have to fight to find another which is very hard as tried hard alone to find this one that was supposedly in good condition. If they refund and take it back are to pay for everything including travel as I wouldn't have gone up if they were honest about their cars.

feel screwed over..
