Is there a certain dollar amount that you are willing to pay for a more reliable brand vs a less reliable brand assuming similar mileage/year/condition?
I'm currently shopping between a Volvo S80 3.2 and Acura TSX wagon. Both are 2011s, and both have around 100-110k miles, both are 2 owners with good regular maintenance history. However, the Acura is commanding a $5k premium over the Volvo ($11k vs $6k). Now, I know the Acura is more reliable, but it's still not immune from repairs since it's not a new car, and the Volvo is known to be robust and still somewhat reliable, just not as reliable as the Acura.
