Rutherford County striping rules are killing me!! Who actually understands them?

I’m managing a small retail lot in Murfreesboro and trying to get the lines updated. I thought it would be a simple repaint job, but the rules here in Rutherford County are insane. ADA spots, fire lanes, slope, stall width, it’s like a mini civil engineering project.

The diagrams make sense in theory, but the measurements in the text often contradict each other. I don’t want to paint everything only to be told it’s out of compliance. Even worse, the previous layout was done ages ago and clearly doesn’t meet today’s standards.

I found Line Striping Regulations in Rutherford County: Compliance Guide online, which helped clarify some of the details, but I still feel uneasy. It mentions van-accessible ADA stalls, proper signage, and reflective paint, which I hadn’t considered before.

Has anyone gone through this recently? How strict is the county during inspections? Did they actually measure everything, or just eyeball it?
