More Affordable and Safer Cities to move to

I currently live in Ridgeland, MS with my 3-year old daughter and my sister is staying with me as well. I am looking for other places that are cheaper but safer to live in besides Ridgeland. Also, if y’all know if the job market is better too feel free to let me know. But I am looking for a work from home job in the mean time while working part time and my side job online.
