Motherboard Died need advice on a way forward
Looking for some perspective before I commit to a direction.
I’m currently running an i7-13700K paired with an RTX 4080, and my NZXT motherboard failed. Looking into getting replacements and im torn on buying an older LG1700 socket motherboard that won't match the rest of my nzxt components vs buying a new motherboard and new processor but dont even know where to start since they changed the naming conventions. Ive never ran AMD before but not necessarily opposed. I just remember there being a reduced effectiveness if paired with intel based GPU but that could be old news.
My current system still performs great for what I do:
- Gaming
- General productivity
- Small 3d modeling for at home 3d printing needs
- Not chasing benchmarks
Option A - quick and easy Asus board from Best Buy and be back to gaming
Option B - NZXT N9 Z890 from amazon and a new I7 ultra 265k would cost around 500 and then get $300 from the RMA.
For reference im assuming NZXT will have to refund because they no longer make the mobo and someone else with the exact same issue posted on reddit a few months ago stating that NZXT would only offer a refund so no need to wait for the RMA process.
Curious what others would do in this situation.
