Pre-Islamic Arab Religious Ritual Observed by Nonnosus, a 6th Century Byzantine Diplomat

The title of this post is the same as a post made over a year ago, which proposes that a pre-Islamic pilgrimage ritual mentioned by the Roman diplomat Nonnosus, could be the same one as the Hajj. Unfortunately, this is unlikely, and I explained why that was at some length. In response, OP deleted the post, which removes access to my discussion using the search function on reddit or google.
