[F4M] What happens in casting stays in casting: or, “I need this part more than anything.”

Claire Rinaldi had always been a woman with great ambitions. A graduate from her home state’s drama school, Claire knew that she had both the talent and the mentality to truly make it big. Her college professors had applauded her boldness to truly shine on the stage, and her ability to understand the emotional depths of just about any script. She was able to live and experience the characters and dialogues that had been given to her, being able to swoop just about any viewer into the twists and turns of the story. To put it in layman’s terms, Claire had large swaths of potential as an actress. Due to the encouraging words of her professors, she had decided to pack her bags, and ditch Nebraska for Los Angeles, with dreams about Hollywood success ingrained into her mind.

After two years in the City of Angels, those aspirations hadn’t necessarily materialized yet. Now aged 25, Claire had frequented auditions of all kinds and sorts, yet the big break that she was waiting for hadn’t come, at least not yet. Her IMDb page was still very short and barren of anything note-worthy, yet despite that, she wasn’t ready to throw in the towel just yet. Acting was her passion, and she was ready to do anything to make it her full-time job. Being stuck in a small rental unit in Lincoln Heights and working as a cashier in the nearby gas station wasn’t necessarily what she had in mind when she had moved to California, but in Claire’s mind, her current circumstances were merely a temporary setback. Sooner or later at least one director or producer would spot her talisman-like talent, and her casting agent certainly believed in her.

After wrapping up her shift in the petrol station, she was elated to receive a call from her agent. Usually a call from that number only meant good things, and this time was no different. She had earned herself yet another audition call, and even despite her previously poor track record, she was very much feeling optimistic about her prospects. This time, she was auditioning for a part in the pilot of a brand-new soap opera. The genre wasn’t necessarily her strong suit or even her favourite, but during times like these, Claire would absolutely take everything that was offered to her. Weirdly enough, she wasn’t given a script to memorize for the audition, though her agent had mentioned that her improvisational skills could be put to the test at the set, which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, as she was quite skillful when it came to improv.

The audition was held in Hollywood, which at least told Claire that she was on the right track. At first, it would just be an audition there, but soon, that would be the neighborhood where she worked and hopefully even resided in. She had given herself a pep talk of this sort numerous times during her stay in the Sunshine State, yet this time Claire felt that this audition would truly be both pivotal and consequential. This was going to be the audition for her, this was going to be her part, and she was going to do anything to ensure that she got it.

In terms of her appearance, Claire wanted to ensure that she wouldn’t over-dress for the audition, deciding to go with a light-shaded V-neck and a mid-length, deep blue skater skirt. She hoped that the milk-coloured shirt would elevate her slightly darker, Italian-American complexion, alongside her dark brown, almost black, hair. This was the time for Miss Rinaldi to shine like a proper star.

Hello there, and thanks for taking the time to read my prompt! While I am aware that ‘casting couch’-esque prompts such as these aren’t necessarily a scarcity on DPP, I wanted to throw my own spanner into the works with this post. I wanted to give Claire genuine depth as a character, whilst also classifying the audition as ‘non-pornographic’ in a superficial sense. The idea here is that the audition starts off as usual, though as Claire grows more and more desperate for the part, it could be easy to see how things begin to go south from there.

Kink-wise, I am not really a fan of anything overtly extreme, though it has to be said that this plot will explore some rather taboo topics. Still, I’d prefer to greatly emphasize the emotional aspect of a dynamic of this sort as opposed to trying to hammer in as many kinks as possible to the story. Yes, there will be a sense of humiliation and coarseness in the scene, but most of that stems from the qualities of the arrangement itself.

I personally write around 500-800 words per reply, and I hope that you would be able to achieve the same. I only write in third person, past tense. Feel free to message me if you found this prompt to be intriguing! :)
