Album Art. What do you do for it?

This occurred to me based on a post in another sub asking for advice on art for an upcoming album someone was working on.

What do you all do for your album arts? Is it something you've learned to use PS/GIMP to design? Do you take photographs to use? I would imagine at least some of the folks here also dabble in visual design in some way or another.

Personally, I like to take pictures of interesting textures or features I find, usually in nature, and mess with the coloring/other effects to create sort of abstract images and then (as of recently) overlay my logo/whatever somewhere on it.

I'm curious to hear everyone's approaches.
