Trying to find a decent starter laptop for my son (MSI GL62 6QF or similar)

Discussion

Hey guys, Dad from Bosnia here. I’m looking to surprise my 12-year-old with his first "real" gaming laptop. He’s currently struggling through Minecraft and Roblox on an old office machine that sounds like a jet engine taking off, and I think it’s time for an upgrade before he loses his mind over the lag. I’ve been eyeing the MSI GL62 6QF (the one with the i7-6700HQ and GTX 960M) because they seem like solid, "tanky" machines that can survive a pre-teen. That said, I’m not tech-illiterate, but I’m definitely not an expert on the newer stuff, so I’m open to suggestions for anything in that spec range or better. The details:

Location: I’m in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Shipping can be a bit of a headache here, so I’m mainly looking for sellers in the Balkans or EU, but I’m willing to talk through the logistics if you’re further out.

Budget: I’m aiming for around €200 - €250 (roughly 400-500 KM).

Negotiation: I’m definitely willing to negotiate on the price if the specs are right or if it comes with some extras (mouse, bag, etc.). If you’ve got something slightly better but a bit over my budget, reach out anyway—maybe we can make it work.

Condition: Doesn’t need to be mint. A few scratches or "character marks" are totally fine as long as the screen is clean and the thermals aren't hitting 100°C the second he opens Fortnite.

If you’ve got an old rig gathering dust after an upgrade, I’d love to take it off your hands and give it a second life. Drop a comment or shoot me a PM! Cheers!
