I'm sick of the Hunt slander based on uncanon fantasies & gross rhetorics

This is just gonna be a little vent post because I am absolutely sick of the Hunt slander I’m seeing from some people. I’m sick of the lengths they’re willing to go just to tear apart this absolutely heartbreaking character. It screams insecurity on their part.

I literally saw a comment just now saying Hunt being created for Bryce is somehow a form of assault. They said it’s gross that he has these powers to "give" her energy, that he's gross for the way he was created & that he’s an assaulter because of it. My jaw dropped.

Imagine this: You're an author, writing a character who spent his life objectified and enslaved, treated like a tool or a weapon & then you have him also find out that he was created by outside forces and have him think again that he is just some kind of object. And then we have Bryce, this beautiful person, telling him "No, you’re just Hunt. You get to define yourself.” in the same way she tells anyone else in the story (like the female Fae) that everybody gets to define themselves. Beautiful message in HOFAS. Love it and love that SJM put it in there.

But then you take a look into the fandom and oh... you see that the people talk like the villains in the book. They go right back to objectifying Hunt, calling him gross, saying he has no soul because of the way he was created, and that he is just a tool basically. They are acting like he had a say in any of this. They lowkey start sounding like the Asteri ngl. Madly weird mindset & thought process to have...

As an SA survivor, I find the people, who casually say “Hunt SA'd Bryce” to be the worst. It's highly offensive to the point I don't even have words anymore. When I was SA'd, I did not have a choice. I did not have a loving partner. My assaulter did not wait until I touched him first and he sure as hell did not ask for permission. Those people toss these terms around like they’re meaningless. Have some respect please. Think before you say something about such heavy topics like SA.

I’m just sick of it. Sick of people trying to destroy Hunt’s character out of insecurity. It’s insecurity, plain and simple. Making up things that aren’t true, tearing down Hunt, because they know whatever they are trying to promote can't stand on its own.
