Sensi or Ecobee or something else?

I had to replace a Nest 3rd gen with a dumb thermostat and the HVAC guy was telling me how often he had to replace them. He recommended Ecobee or Sensi, are either of these really good and worthy of his recommendation? Or should I look elsewhere or just get a Nest 4th gen?
