Waitlist: Hell or Hope?

I find myself on a waitlist. While it's better than a no, I am afraid to keep the flame of hope alive. Any thoughts on whether or not there may be a better chance with waitlists this year since there are fewer offers? Maybe universities were more conservative with their acceptances and there will be more waitlist movement? Please? Pretty please? (*also posted on another similar page)
