6th Month of 49 AC

The Tourney Grounds

On a field just shy of the shoreline of Lake Wayn and in view of Castle Ironoaks, laborers had worked to clear the layer of snow and set up the tourney grounds: great, tall stands for the nobility were set up with pre-made pieces of hardy ironwood and cushioned benches, giving the highborn a privileged and comfortable view of the events. A central 'box' was placed, hosting the Arryns, the Waynwoods and the Hunters.

Across the field where the events would be held, a fence of freshly-hewn timber had been raised, serving as the boundary for how close the watching smallfolk could get to the constestants.

The Fair

Mummers, puppeteers, wandering bards and less savoury entertainers had flocked in droves at the sound of an event hosted in winter, hoping to make some coin with which to withstand the more meagre season. Alongside them, a few merchants of every sort had come as well - mostly craftsmen selling their wares, as food sellers with the stores to sell during the season were few and with highly inflated prices.

The Contestants' Field

A space had been reserved for the contestants of the jousts, to mark their presence in the event with their brightly colored pavillions and tents.
