$140k at 24

discussion

hi all.

this is going to be a cringe flex post. ik many people on here also make much more than me at this age.

it’s also in nyc so i will still be screwed.

i have accepted a new job with base 130k and bonus of 10-20%.

i went through a bad breakup 6 months ago with the girl i wanted to spend my life with, and other than my parents she was the only person i would really want to tell! i was making 79k so this is a huge bump.

i can’t share w her so i will share here instead!

it is as a data analyst in tech/fintech.

my progression:

18-21 - worked at a daycare, as a substitute teacher, as a building attendant, and at subway (all basically min wage)

22 - unpaid intern

22 - $40/hr intern

23 - $30/hr intern (no full time offer from previous company)

23 - full time offer ($75k base, $7k bonus)

24 - $79k (6% raise)

24 - new offer
