Am I being under paid ?

Questions About Nanny Standards/Etiquette

Sorry in advance for the grammatical errors.

I am currently a nanny working 50+ hours a week to 3 children(1yr,3yr,5yr). I was originally hired on at 40 hours a week with the occasional 50. My hours are now consistently 50/week.

I’m currently making $21/hr. I also get time and a half. I am coming up on my 1 year in less than a month.

I have 2years of daycare experience and now 1 year of nannying under my belt.

With my list of duties and responsibilities I want to know if I’m getting paid a fair amount or if I should ask for more.

I currently do: load and unload dishes I prepare breakfast lunch and dinner. Dinner is for the whole family. I do pick up and drop off for the oldest child The middle goes to day care half day 2x a week. I plan activities Laundry Sweep Vacuum Change sheets and diaper pail Feed dogs Keep list of groceries needed as well as diapers wipes. Clean up children’s bedrooms and toys throughout the day Wipe down fridge Organize pantry Buy art supplies with my own money Bake at least 3x a week (muffins/bread/bars) I clean children’s bathroom Take out garbage and recycle Zero tv is allowed unless child is sick Outside time everyday is required

I am currently enrolled in college as well and have been offered another nanny position that pays $25 with benefits. 40hrs a week. This is now my 3rd job offer willing to pay more.

I don’t want to leave them I have know their kids for almost 3 years now. But as the cost of living continue to rise as well as I have no choice but to ask them to match it. I would get another job but with the hours I work no one is hiring.

Each child has big behaviors which I also bring to the parents attention and teach them ways to cope and provide tools etc. which they say is very helpful. I communicate with children’s teachers as well. They also are an everything is on limits house. The children are allowed to play with and do anything(as long as it’s safe) which I admire but can lead to a lot of mess and confusion.

I am never late and I always stay late if needed with no problem. I truly do my best to go above and beyond their standards frequently asking where can I improve and they reply “you’re amazing/we’re very lucky to have you”

I’m just not sure if $21 is fair.
