Ending a long term friendship
Me and my best friend have known each other for 13 years. We were close even after i had to travel to another city to live there. Our friendship was long distance and we were meeting 1 or two times per year. Everytime i was the one who is traveling to see her due to a lot of things on her side that “prevented her from coming to my place”. However even when she could travel with her family she says she can’t go out cause they want her to spent time with them as a family, etc. i was fine with this until i felt like i’m investing more in this friendship than her. Adding to this she started not texting for very long periods and when i text her to ask about her she find excuses and she always has something happening in her life. I was trying to be understanding in the beginning but with time i started to get mad cause i also have a life and things has been happening in my life. I also can see her posting on instagram, going out etc at the same time she says she is busy with life events so that’s why she was not contacting me. What keeps frustrating me is that she is always like oh i really miss you! But from what i explained above, her actions do not match her words. Now after a while i decided to move on silently from this friendship then i thought, we have gone through a lot together and she deserves to give her another chance. So, i contacted her, told her that i feel we are drafting apart and she agreed and assured me that nothing changed and i should not wait for her to be free to contact her and reach out anytime! We have talked a bit and she started asking about my life updates and once i started to tell her, she just stopped responding (she did that a lot recently and sometimes, said that she did not recieve the message and that whatsapp was acting strange and does that a lot to her).
Now i’m so confused, should i give her the benefit of doubt! Or i should just leave and move on. She is the only friend i have kept for that long and it makes me sad seeing this happening
