Day 365 - I made it a full year!

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been a full year since I made the decision to finally work towards being the person I wanted to be. Someone who isn’t dependent on substances to enjoy life or tolerate discomfort.

The journey was easy and hard at the same time. The journey is lifelong for me. I’ve had people ask if I’ll go back to trying moderation now that it’s been a full year, but I just can’t even think about that. I’m still taking it one day at a time.

I love not coughing, not worrying about the next time I’ll be able to smoke or if I can bring my weed with me wherever I’m going.

I miss the bandaid of being able to get high and escape my feelings or reality. I also realize that not having this option allowed me to work through things much quicker, and I’ve made better choices for myself in the long run.

Had a short bought where I was using alcohol in place of weed, drinking multiple days a week. I now only drink once a week and that is my maximum to avoid this.

My sleep is fantastic, having dreams again has given me more insight into my subconscious mind, and I feel more connected to everyone and everything around me.

I’m completely present for my life which is such a blessing. After ten years of living in the fog, thinking I wasn’t strong enough to escape, I did. And you can too. Much love to everyone out there on their journey to freedom ❤️
