Hi everyone, I really need some urgent guidance regarding my UK visit visa application.

My current situation is this: I have savings of £5,000. My company is sponsoring £2,000 for my 9-day UK leisure trip as a reward, and I am personally planning to spend around £350–£400 from my own funds. The total estimated trip cost comes to roughly £2,400.

My confusion is about the question in the application that asks: “How much money are you personally planning to spend on your visit to the UK?” I’m not sure what I should mention there. Should it be £2,000 (the sponsored amount), £2,400 (the total trip cost), or £400 (the amount I will actually spend from my own pocket)?

The last time I applied, I declared £2,000 under sponsorship and also mentioned the same equivalent amount (around 250,000 INR) under “How much money are you personally planning to spend on your visit to the UK.” At that time, my savings were around £4,000. My application was rejected because my total savings were roughly equal to the amount I had declared. My account balance had dipped to £2.47 at one point, although it was built back up properly afterward.

What confuses me is that two of my colleagues followed the same approach. They declared £2,000 under sponsorship and added the same 250,000 INR as personal spend. One of them had savings of over £13,000 and the other had only £1,470, and both were approved.

I’m honestly very confused about what the correct way to declare this is, especially in a sponsorship case like mine. If anyone has experience with a similar situation, I would really appreciate your advice.
