Pros and Cons of joining Student Group Claim (UK England)

I’m considering joining the student group claim for compensation during the Covid academic years. For context, classes were cancelled and I wasn’t able to access essential facilities for my practical-based subject.

I can’t see any reason not to join, I’m wondering if anyone knows any reason it isn’t a good idea? Are there any risk? 

I’m also not certain what will be required of me beyond providing my personal details and details of my course? 

I’m based in England
