Crit Amplifier - Violent Question...

Every site I search says that Crit Amplifier - Violent for gloves only drops in a Gold version. However, I have one equipped and the icon is Blue. I frequently have the internet tell me what I'm looking at with my own eyes is not true, so I'm wondering if the icon being Blue might mean something other than its quality. I don't want to keep farming this mod if I already have the highest possible quality/tier.
