Trying to understand why my boyfriend didn’t even acknowledge Valentines Day
I’ve (F34) dated my boyfriend (M36) since Sept last year. He says he loves me. We text all day, daily. He talks about our future. I was a little surprised when a week before, I learned he had alternate plans for V day. They were work-related in a way. But no suggestion of doing something the day before/after with me, his girlfriend. I pushed it down. I expect nothing, really. But he didn’t even say Happy Valentines. He didn’t send a message. We texted on the day and he didn’t even mention it. He made a valentines-themed Instagram post the day before. But nothing for me. Why? Does he hate me? Whyyyy?! Please help me understand why he did this. I am so hurt.
TLDR: I’ve been dating my boyfriend for several months and he says he loves me, but on Valentine’s Day he made other plans, didn’t celebrate with me, didn’t even say “Happy Valentine’s Day,” and posted about it on Instagram instead. I’m really hurt and confused about why he ignored me on a day that felt important.
