What are some cool SA projects you think more people should know about?
I've been trying to make a list of genuinely good SA projects that people either don't know about or are quietly gaining some ground. It's easy for locally built tools to fade into the background especially now in the age of AI.
Shesha - https://shesha.io/
A Microsoft stack low code tool with a strong Github repo (464 stars, 126 forks). They've been around a while by the looks of things while consistently polishing their product.
Revibe - https://revibe.co.za/
Classic used electronics store with a modern twist. Their products do trend slightly more expensive, but they also tend to be newer.
Chorus AI - https://getchorusai.com/
The developer tool connects to github / devops and teams / slack to autonomously handle tickets while actively reaching out to stakeholders for more info if the work item assigned to it is not specced well enough.
Rebill - https://rebill.co.za/
Invoicing tailored to South African small businesses and freelancers. As we know, freelancing is a bit of a landmine financially, you can find yourself booming with projects one month and completely dry the next. Helps to have a solid finance tool
Loolio - https://www.loolio.com/
A highly engaged social media platform that's being built by a young man in public. He shares updates near daily on TikTok. I've been a user since day one and out of the list it's probably the most likely after Shesha to break out of our borders.
Any others you think are worth a mention?
