Confused about credential

I received my credential from the Confraternity of St. James. I'm starting my Camino in Pamplona in June. Am I supposed to register somewhere in Pamplona or do I just start walking? Can I even stay at an albergue in Pamplona when I don't have any stamps yet? I'm confused on the finer points of how to begin this grand adventure. Thank you!
