I built a pricing + sourcing tool for independent car dealers. Looking for honest feedback.
Over the last year I’ve been building a data tool specifically for independent used car dealers.
The idea started because I kept seeing smaller dealers try to compete with franchise stores using either gut instinct or expensive tools that weren’t built for them.
So I built something that:
- Compares active vs sold listings in a local market
- Grades demand (A–F style)
- Shows days on market trends
- Flags risky buys before dealers overpay
- Gives real-time appraisal guidance based on supply + sold comps
It’s basically “vAuto-style insights” but focused on independents.
I’ve had about 20–25 dealers test it, and usage has been solid, but converting to paid users has been tougher than I expected.
If you’re a dealer (or have sold cars), I’d genuinely love feedback:
• What do you actually use today to source?
• What makes you trust or not trust a pricing tool?
• What would make something like this a no-brainer?
Not selling here. Just trying to build something that actually helps smaller operators compete smarter.
Appreciate any real feedback.
