Any educators here?

💁‍♀️ seeking advice / support / information

Hi all!

I recently just discovered that I am likely autistic. I have known that I'm ADHD for a while but the more that I learn about autism, the more that I realize this fits me.

I'm curious if there are any educators here because I am looking for a career change and I'm wondering how education is for audhd. Specifically, I have been debating getting a single-subject credential to teach highschool history because history is definitely one of my special interests. However upon realizing that I'm autistic, I'm wondering if the burnout rates in this career will catch up to me quicker than neurotypical educators.

Are there any educators in this sub? If so, I'm very curious about your experience and if you would suggest the field!

For context btw, I am 29F with a formal ADHD diagnosis and no formal autism diagnosis YET. I live in socal.
