Was just in the ER- do I need to follow up with the doctor I was referred to, or any doctor?

35F. When I was in the ER and got a CT done, they found something they thought MIGHT be concerning. They discharged me and referred me to an OB-GYN for follow-up.

Do I need to (or should I) go to specifically that one (e.g. did they send all my ER records there)? Per my insurance, I can go to any specialist even without a referral as long as they're in network (in regards to coverage).

(Fwiw, I AM looking for a new OB-GYN- but the one I was referred to by the ER has very negative reviews.)
