Why does the GIT message generator try to quote the message in triple back ticks?

Why does the GIT message generator sometimes (frequently) try to quote the message in triple back ticks? Many times it doesn't eve close the quotation. It only adds noise and makes the message not visible in the sidebar (shows like "```").
