Looking for help for abuse victim

One of my friends is in the process of leaving her abusive partner, and she’s struggling with the logistics. She finally found a place she can move into, but the “how” of getting her stuff out safely is tough. She can’t just start packing because he’ll go berserk on her, and she can’t let him know in advance for the same reasons. Any recommendations? Does the police offer help in these situations?
