Burn when I add air assist

We’ve run our lasers without air assist for several years now, and I’m spearheading efforts to start doing it again.

What you see is a test on a ULS6.60 with a cone assist. The right is without. The left is with.

You can see the brown burn marks are being pulled in the direction of the exhaust.

I was surprised with the assist in that it looks like it’s blowing the burn onto the material.
