Weird tournament result

I only recently started playing tournaments and never one one until I did but then when going back to the menu the game froze, then it said I was joining the finals again against the same opponent, made us play again the last match with 1 win each, we lost and we ended we ended up second and now that we lost the result was counted.

Did this happen to anyone before?

its not the first time I have problems with tournaments: other times, every time I got to the semifinals and finals it almost always said "joining error" and had to rejoin multiple times
