Reporting/statement question - When sold option is assigned the realized P/L shows zero despite making money on premiums
In my statements under the options trading detail, if I sell a covered call and the option expires worthless, the Realized P/L column shows the profit from the premiums. But if the CC is called away, the Realized P/L column shows zero P/L even though I received the premium. See the attached image. Column A is the "proceeds" column, and column B is the Realized P/L. In the case of being called away, is the premium reflected elsewhere? Is it added to the actual Trade P/L? I need to understand this for Dual Status tax returns (was a non-resident for part of the year). Appreciate any help!
