Most people play this game not because they enjoy it, but because they are addicted to it.
EA has designed the game to make people feel fear of missing out at every moment. Don't play for a couple of days? You risk getting relegated in rivals, you risk missing some promo or SBC, you miss a tournament etc.
The moment one simply stops caring about missing out and/or falling behind, is the moment one starts to beat the addiction. That's when one starts to genuinely just have fun with the game and treat it as a game rather than some homework or part time job.
