Is it Stille love ? 23 F and 23 M
I have been in a relationship for seven months with someone I initially admired a lot for his values and very firm principles. I liked that stability, that sense that he knew exactly what he wanted.
From the beginning, he set clear boundaries: he didn’t want his girlfriend going out if there were other guys present (parties, apartments, etc.). I accepted it, thinking it was a way of protecting the relationship.
The problem is that my friend groups are mixed. Little by little, I stopped going to outings to avoid conflict. It ended up isolating me, even from my female friends, since the guys were part of the group. I started feeling lonely, afraid to go out, afraid of running into a guy, afraid that even a simple interaction might be misinterpreted. So I almost stopped going out altogether.
In recent weeks, the relationship has become very unstable. In one week, we broke up at least three times, and each time we ended up talking again because we struggle to cut contact completely.
We finally found a compromise: I can go to bars with my group even if there are guys there, but no apartment parties if guys are present. I agreed.
But now I’m lost.
The idea of not being together anymore would make me very sad. I don’t want to lose him.
At the same time, being in contact with him stresses me out. I don’t really want to spend time with him. I don’t feel the need to tell him about my day.
And most of all, even when he kisses me, I don’t feel anything. Not strong rejection, not disgust, just… nothing. Sometimes I even just want him to let go of me.
I don’t understand how I can say that I love him and at the same time feel this emptiness when he’s close to me.
Is it possible to love someone but no longer feel good in the relationship? Is it a sign that something has broken?
