You are a grad student in psychology. You are an ambitious, all As student. But most importantly, you geniunely want to help people. This was the reason you study psychology at first place. And that's why you immediately accepted when your professor asked you to help his new study, even though most would find it odd and start asking questions right away.

The study is for a complementary way to therapy, a novel approach for those who don't show any progress despite regular therapy. Each patient will be assigned a grad student to live with them. This is not a therapy replacement, so you should be just following the guidelines of the actual therapist. You are there to observe, encourage, reply any questions patient have. Of course, the patients are also selected carefully so that there wouldn't be anyone with tendency to violence. But just in case, you're given a panic button.
