Iphone stops working after trying to update

My phone had been dealing with the Apple Maps storage glitch, so today I finally decided to call to fix the problem. yada yada yada, they suggest the new update would fix the issue. I try to update the phone using my laptop... doesn't work, tells me I need to now restore iPhone and that all my media is lost. I try to restore the phone... DOESN'T WORK.

idk what to do, I can't call the service number again because I don't have a phone. I can't go in person because I have a job and responsibilities. please help
