Flight school recommendations in the Sacramento area?

I’m a high school student in the Sacramento area looking to start my PPL soon. I’ve got about 5 hours so far and I’m planning to pursue aviation long term (hopefully airlines).

I’m leaning toward Part 61 since I’ll need flexibility with my schedule, but I’m open to hearing arguments for 141 too. I’m looking at schools at LHM, but am willing to go to MHR, SAC, or any other airports nearby.

I also haven’t gotten my student pilot certificate or medical yet so I would greatly appreciate any advice on starting that process locally? And if I’m aiming at the airlines, should I just go straight for a first-class medical?

Would love to hear experiences or things you wish you knew starting out.
