I fit the criteria
Just had my therapy session literally like thirty minutes ago, and my therapist has said that I fit the criteria for PTSD instead of BPD. The ptsd thing I thought wasn’t that much due to how she mentioned it the first time when we were disused about me being raped, she wasn’t brushing it off or anything but just mentioned I do have a form of it.
She mentioned it even more this session due to me elaborating my mood swings a lot more and environmental causes because I’ve researched BPD can happen from environmental factors besides genetics. And to be honest I think I made her cry the more I talked about the way I grew up which were basically 1+1=2 (essentially saying it makes sense the way I act)
I’ve had her as a therapist for about two years now, I think? And this is the most I’ve opened up to her because I’m not that great of expressing myself, like saying it out loud/forming the words.
We weren’t able to dove deeper into the PTSD stuff due to how much we were talking about BPD, I thought of BPD because of my intense mood swings that switch like turning on and off a light switch.
We’ll talk more next session about it, but I am bit in a processing state of this, I’ve never really gotten deep into the knowledge of PTSD and it being a personality/mood thing. Not to mention I didn’t even know it had mood swings/personality changes.I haven’t yet to research more into it but I am planning to after this post.
