Designer saree shop recommendations in Chennai
Hello everyone! I'm based out of Chennai but currently live outside the country. I am getting married in May 2026 and would like to get a designer saree (not sequins, but rather silk/georgette/tissue based saree with designer work) for my wedding reception. My mum and brother have been shopping on my behalf. They went to a couple of stores that I've always known will have good options- Kay Fashions, Rang Roop but unfortunately collections have been quite bad :(
Diadem seems to be a bit better, they had lot more collection and in-house tailoring so I'm planning to check that out once I'm in Chennai. Can I get recommendations for stores to go to get designer saree similar to the ones available in Bengaluru (Samyakk) or Delhi?
I unfortunately can't travel out of Chennai and most of my wedding outfits are Kanjivaram sarees since it'll be a traditional south Indian wedding and reception is the only function that I'd like to wear something contemporary. People have suggested me to try lehenga or gowns but I don't want to buy something that I'd never wear again.
I've attached screenshots below of saree that I kinda like. Please help a girl out! I'm open to ideas. Tried to reach out to a couple of boutiques for customization but they are extremely expensive (around 65k) and my budget for the saree and blouse is around 35k INR.
