Why does my SM always schedule our receiver to leave at 3 or 4 on days when we’re getting in trucks?? It infuriates me. I’m a closer. Already working with a skeleton crew and being expected to clean up after morning crew while also doing ASM and others jobs on top of my own responsibilities. Now I’m being expected to unload trucks (which I’ve never done or even been shown how to unload a truck. I’m usually thrown on the floor or out at propane as soon as I clock in if there’s a truck being unloaded.) while I have 2 new hires by themselves on the floor??? Can’t decline it, or I’ll get written up, can’t take too long, or we “get in trouble”, so like wtf?? Delivery hours are 8-5. At least have our receiver work 9-5’s. Instead of having them come in at open (7:30) and leave at 3:30-4 on delivery days. ESPECIALLY when we get emails a week in advance for our truck delivery. Also—I’ve made it very clear (verbally) that I do not feel comfortable unloading trucks. I have a diagnosed health condition that makes my anxiety skyrocket and with our sketchy ramp and overpacked and dangerously leaning pallets on trucks? Yeah. No.
