Shin splints...what's left to try or do?

Hello everyone,

Another shin splints post...I know! But, there's only 1-2 things that are left to try..I guess?

So I've been running on and off for a few years. Mostly 5/8/10km, never longer than 12km, at a decent pace. So not really a beginner, but surely not a running expert, especially considering I still didn't fix my problem..

I run with Hoka Clifton 9, and also with Salomon XT-6 (which surprisingly enough are the ones that hurt less).

Went to a physiotherapist and I got custom made (and expensive) insoles.

I do pay attention not to over-stride and keep the feet landing below my hips. I try to both do long strides, or "quick feet" type of runs — the long strides, and a slightly faster pace, seem to hurt me less, but I get more tired, of course.

But..as soon as I start running..shin splints start. Not all the time, but most of the time.
Today I did 10km, and I had to do the first 4-5km stopping at every 1km. The second part was easier to bare, but the pain was still there, just less intense.

The day after, or right after the run, no pain — they are tense, but just like a trained muscle, but zero pain at all.

I'm doing toe raises every day since 10 days, maybe not enough days yet.

So the only things I'm left with is, either doing more toe raises and wait, or using compression socks/leg sleeves.

What are your thoughts, anything else I'm missing out? Or do I need to be consistent with my runs, suck up the pain, and wait that it goes away?
I'm ok with my breathe, I'm ok with my body, I feel I could run longer but the pain just scares me and I don't want to push too much, but I also do need to run to train it..

Thank you in advance!
