Hate bots and bots concern-trolling about leftist issues- what is actually the point?

So many bots are saying things like "this story is good but has too many white characters/not enough fat characters" or "this story will offend immigrants because of mentions of borders".

Is this like crazyaceyinspacey, where they convinced many via trolling that asexuals are annoying? Trying to make leftists seem like some type of annoying police? What is the point doing this on a primarily left leaning website? Twitter I understand, as there are more conservatives/alt right than there isn't, and belittling leftists through bots pretending to be them is good for causing even more schism and dislike. But on ao3, what is even the point?

Surely the answer isn't as simple as "it wants to waste your time". I think there's something more insidious that's happening. Same with hate bots spamming hate without any monetary gain or social media exchanges. Am I missing something??
