Need help with the last few fates

I’ve officially solved 45 fates and I feel really proud of myself. However, the last 15 are just evading me. I’ve spent 3+ hours trying to make any progress at all and NOTHING. Haven’t solved any new ones in that time. They’re all random seamen, topmen, the purser, the helmsman, and the ship’s steward. There are a few names that I am completely sure I know the face of, but not how they died, and vice versa, I know how some souls died but not their names or rank. I’m getting really frustrated and am considering just looking up a walkthrough but this is my last resort: what is your advice for getting past this final hurdle?
