replace or clean line set?
I have a 5 unit mini-split system that I'm replacing, same locations and line sizes, potentially same refrigerant (depending on what I buy). I'd really like to reuse the lines as there are some long runs (65ft, maybe more) with difficult access (3 story A-frame) and the costs of new line sets will be over $1000 alone. The old system did not fail due to a burnout, so I suspect (hope) the lines are in good shape. I watched a couple videos of a pro using some cool tools to clean lines, but it doesn't look DIY friendly, at least with the tools I have. Could I hire a pro to do the line cleaning and do the rest of the install on my own (I've done a couple before), or should I suck it up and buy new line sets? It would be SOOO nice not to have to buy & run new lines and use everything that's already in place, but I don't want to compromise the new system. Thoughts?
