X3800H vs. MR1 vs. MR1L
I'm well aware of the love for the Denon AVR-X3800H. However, I'm curious if anyone has thoughts on comparing that to the Emotiva MR1 and MR1L. It seems like the MR1 has significantly more power than the 3800 for a little more cash while the MR1L is on sale for $999, a significant savings over the 3800. To put things into context, my plan is to use the Martin Logan Motion F10's for LR, the XT C100 for Center and B10's for rear/surround (x4). At some point in the future, I'll add Motion MP10's (x4) for height channels. Initially, I'd be willing to add a dedicated amp for LCR and I may also add a dedicated amp for the height channels (when I add them) just to keep the draw off the receiver which would be powering the rear/surround channels. I should also add that I already own a HSU VTF-TN1 and am considering adding another as the space I am working with is ~3000sf and 11' ceilings. The majority of serious use will be AV but I DO enjoy music which is why I'm looking at the F10's for LR. Given all of that, what are your thoughts on comparing the three receivers I listed? I'm leaning toward the MR1L simply because the power advantage of the MR1 seems lost if I'm adding an LCR amp. That said, there are MUCH more experienced folks in this community so let's hear those opinions.
