What would a good sequel/prequel look like?

I'm sure the topic has come up before, but I'm new to this series and already far more interested in what can come from this than looking forward to gta6 and other things.

I was gifted rdr2 recently and got to the epilogue, and now I've taken the time to read about rdr1 and how that actually came from Red Dead Revolver, and the characters name was Red.

Wikipedia says Arthur wasn't even mentioned in rdr1 but it was definitely worth the risk adding the character with John being nearby instead of the player Character.

The game as Red happened in the 1880s, so it would have been when Arthur and John were pretty young.

there's so much storytelling that any more prequels would either have to somehow fit into the lore or be a new character's story.

near the end, Arthur started naming off his friends who died and some of them seemed like from before this game started/unfamiliar until just being mentioned.

maybe a remake of red dead revolver but made open world with modern game mechanics?

if they keep going into the future, it's gonna feel closer to gta with cars you have to crank to turn on, and also another main plot point is the days of the old west were ending, so it seems like a real true successor would need to start being more prequels/adjacent stories.

have the developers mentioned any future additions to this series yet? what would you guys like to see/look forward to seeing?
