SteamLink - Nextgen Xbox?

Question

Hey all,

I'm a longtime Xbox fan (20+ years) who's made the switch to PC gaming over the past year. however I picked up a Steam Deck, and haven't turned on my Xbox in months. Mainly because of the game Pass price hikes and that theres no real exclusives anymore, i may aswell just pick up everything on steam since theres a bunch of games that skip xbox entirely.

Anyways, the reason for this post is. the steamdeck is one of the best gaming devices ive ever owned, the only downside is the newer demanding AAA titles being very unplayable.

I've been keeping an eye on the rumors about the next-gen Xbox supposedly integrating with your Steam library. It sounds like it could be the perfect beefy machine to stream to my Deck. Ive been looking at the steammachine too, but i dont think that will be sold in my country, unlike the xbox. so easier to get the xbox.

I know everything is still just rumours but

Question: Do you think the next Xbox will let us install and run the full Steam client natively so we can use Steam Link. Or is Microsoft going to cuck us with the current setup only streaming windows to windows.

I have a feeling they may just show us the Steam library through the Xbox app, like the current FSE , forcing purchases via another device, without proper local install and streaming support?

.

Sorry to post about Xbox on a steamdeck sub, but this is more about streaming to the deck than xbox :)
