Interviewed new job 1 year postpartum … didn’t get it

I was crushed to find out I was passed over for a different candidate who also had experience. I am in a niche field and thought I had a very good chance of being selected, and my references were even called. However I know there were many more applicants than usual. Still, I feel so sad I got my hopes up. It’s hard to not take it personally too. Maybe I’m not at my best being I am still adjusting to life with my daughter. Also, well, I hope to have another child within 2 years and maybe it’s best to wait until after my maternity leave to change employers, as it would be longer than 12 weeks and hard try to fill. Anyways, just looking for advice or similar experiences. Unless something unexpected comes up, I won’t be applying again for at least a year.
