A question on dating today

I have this problem involving something I've got mixed answers about so I hope this will allow my decision on said happening. When you are talking to someone about anything any topic for example " what color are your eyes, they are pretty. I don't know if they are blue or grey what is it you call that color?" And the response is something like " you know green eyes are the most uncommon eye color. I really think green eyes are so beautiful." So a bit later the question is asked and again ignored. What follows is something like " Ive asked may time about your eyes and the colour you seem to skip over it and refuse to answer, I'm just curious now why it's an issue". Response is " I'm so sorry I don't mean to ignore your question I guess I don't see it. I won't let it happen again,." Or something like that... But it happens again never answered anything asked big or small whatever is deemed important is disregard. I don't know what to truly think I mean is this the norm with meet people online now? I don't like it to me it's somewhat disrespectful because I will only ask a question I want to know the answer to. I'm not just asking questions and not wanting to know the answer.. please someone tell me if I should just blow it off ( way way way more then once this happened) or just cut and run. If it's a me thing i Don't wanna kill something i can change. If it's not I can made a definite decision one way or other. Help?
